Description
The winegrowing company Estriacus SL “the Pearl of Priorat” is located in el Molar, southwest of Priorat. Our property, el Mas dels Frares, built in the 15th century, was a Carthusian monastery which was used by the monks of Scala Dei as a rest home. 22 hectares of vineyards (70.000 vines) grow on a rocky plateau, around Mas dels Frares, which has been cultivated for centuries. These lands, famous for the slate soil quality and the favourable climate, are called “the Pearl of Priorat” since the eighteenth century.
