Description
The Clos Galena winery, located in El Molar, was founded in 1999 by the couple Miguel Pérez and Merche Dalmau. Miguel infected Merche with his great passion for wine and for the telluric and magical Priorat. From its beginnings it opted for its own vineyards (today 19 hectares planted), and they were pioneers in the Priorat opting for organic agriculture.
The land where its vineyard is grown belonged during the Middle Ages to the Carthusian monks of Escaladei. For this reason, his estate was named Domini de la Cartuixa "in honor of those religious who, beyond promoting the cultivation of the vine, imbued the lands of the Priory with spirituality". Clos Galena takes the name of the main mineral obtained from the historic Priorat mines.
With a vineyard treated with great care and the exhaustive selection of the different varieties, careful productions are made, with a traditional elaboration system in order to achieve high-end wines.
